What Is Xarelto (Rivaroxaban)?
Xarelto is the brand name for rivaroxaban, a direct oral anticoagulant (DOAC) in the Factor Xa inhibitor class, developed by Bayer and marketed in the United States by Janssen (Johnson & Johnson). It was the first oral Factor Xa inhibitor approved by the FDA and has earned approvals across a broad range of thrombotic conditions including atrial fibrillation, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and post-surgical prophylaxis. Mechanism of Action

An Important Detail: Take with the Evening Meal for AFib
For the atrial fibrillation indication specifically, Xarelto must be taken with the evening meal. This is a clinically important requirement.
