How It Works

What should I do if I have muscle pain?

Report any unexplained muscle pain, tenderness, or weakness to your healthcare provider — particularly if it is new, bilateral, or accompanied by dark-colored urine (a warning sign of myoglobin in the urine from muscle breakdown). Do not abruptly stop atorvastatin without discussing it first, particularly in secondary prevention patients where stopping abruptly can transiently increase CV risk.
