Why do I need to finish all the amoxicillin even if I feel better?

Stopping early gives those surviving bacteria the opportunity to multiply and potentially develop further resistance. Completing the full course ensures the bacteria are fully eradicated. It also reduces the chance of recurrence and prevents the spread of resistant strains to others.

What's the difference between amoxicillin and Augmentin?

Augmentin is amoxicillin combined with clavulanate potassium. Many bacteria produce enzymes called beta-lactamases that break down and inactivate amoxicillin.
